AIKEN, S.C. – The University of South Carolina Aiken baseball team posted a 19-3 win over Chowan Wednesday evening.
The Pacers are now 13-6 on the season.

Nile Goings singled home
Jose Bonilla and
Joey Smithers for a 2-0 edge. Three batters later,
Philip Watcher roped a base hit to right field, plating
Conner Durden.
Tied at 3-3 in the bottom of the fourth, Watcher reached on an error. After moving to second on a wild pitch, he trotted home on a double by
Chandler Rogers.
USC Aiken broke open the game in the fifth stanza by plating four runs.
Brian Parreira singled and later scored on a
Daulton Weeks' triple to the gap in left center field. Watcher drove in Weeks on the next pitch, pushing the score to 6-3.
Chris Girken drew a walk. Two batters later, Bonilla's groundout allowed Watcher to cross home plate. Smithers beat out a hit to second base, scoring Girken for the 8-3 lead.
In the sixth, Girken ripped a double to left field, scoring Durden and Weeks. Rogers singled home Girken and Watcher, making it 12-3.
USC Aiken added to the lead in the eighth when
LaVale Hodges and
Blake Bottomley each drew bases loaded walks. With the bags still full of Pacers, Weeks launched a grand slam over the left center field wall. Bonilla drove in
Saige Benson for the final run for the home squad.
William Ard worked 1.2 innings in relief and picked up the win.
For the game, USC Aiken plated 19 runs on 13 hits.
