Pacers Cage Bearcats, 89-52

AIKEN, S.C. – The University of South Carolina Aiken men's basketball team raced past Lander Saturday evening by a score of 89-52.

The Pacers are now 14-10 on the season and 11-9 in league play.

Head coach Mark Vanderslice's team was led by Henry Bolton III and his game-high 23 points. Faison Brock notched a double-double with 16 points and a game-high 12 rebounds. Robert Hill had just two points, but snagged 11 boards, including four on the offensive glass.

Paris Ballinger and Nenad Milenkovic each contributed nine points while Kyle Tackeberry chipped in seven.

Doniel Dean and Bolton III each dished out five assists.

Bolton III had a tremendous first half, rattling in 16 markers while Brock added 12 in the first 20 minutes of work.

Vanderslice's team led 5-4, but the home squad pushed it to a 10-point edge at 18-8 with 10:56 to go on a shot by Brock. Although the visitors sliced the score to three at 24-21, USC Aiken quickly pushed it back to 10 after a pair of free throws by Markus Terry and a three-ball by Bolton III. With 32 seconds left on the clock, Darius Bell got into the action with a bucket, giving the Pacers a 44-27 lead at the break.

USC Aiken controlled the second half, leading by as many as 41 points. That occurred when Ballinger took a pass from Tackeberry and eventually drained a deep jumper for an 81-40 lead.

For the game, USC Aiken hit 31-of-60 from the floor (51.7 percent), including 14-of-25 from distance (56 percent). The team out-rebounded the visitors 44-34.
