Box Score AMERICUS, Ga. – The University of South Carolina Aiken men's soccer team played Georgia Southwestern to a scoreless draw Saturday evening in a PBC contest.
The Pacers are now 2-4-1 on the season, including an 0-2-1 ledger in league play. The Hurricanes are now 3-6-2 overall and 0-2-1 against conference competition.
For the match, USC Aiken out-shot the home squad 17-16, including 11-5 on goal. The visitors registered seven corner kicks compared to three for the Hurricanes.
Alejandro Chavarria played all 110 minutes between the pipes and tallied four saves in the process.
Sammy Viada nearly got on the board in the 14
th minute of play on a header, but his attempt was thwarted by the keeper.
Oliver Macallan's shot was saved in the 37
th minute of action.
Ranaldo Bailey and
Ricard Saintil got into the offensive action in the early going of the second period, but neither could find the back of the net.
Head coach
Ike Ofoje's team continued pushing forward, with
Daniel Henkin and Zacherenus Simon both putting shots on goal midway through the second stanza.
In the first overtime session,
Andre Salviano took a pair of corner kicks, but the Pacers were unable to put a shot on goal.
USC Aiken was able to play a man up due to a red card on the Hurricanes in the 107
th minute, but the squad was able to only get one more shot on goal in the contest, which was saved.
