USC Aiken Falls To Clayton State On Senior Day

AIKEN, S.C. – The University of South Carolina Aiken men's soccer team lost a 1-0 decision to Clayton State Saturday afternoon in a league contest.

The Pacers finish the season 3-7-2 overall and 0-5-2 in league play. The Lakers improve to 4-10-2 on the year and 3-5 against conference foes.

The action took off right away with Alejandro Chavarria saving a shot in the second minute. He caught another save in the 11th minute, and for the next 35 minutes the teams battled back and forth over a scoreless half.
 
Only six minutes into the second half, the Lakers grabbed a goal to make it 1-0 against USC Aiken. Despite the Pacers best efforts, they didn't manage to even up the score.

Jordan Misiri blasted an attempt in the 55th minute, but the keeper was up for the challenge. The Pacers earned a corner kick in the 67th minute, but the squad was unable to register a shot at that point. However, two minutes later, Jervel Tobierre's attempt narrowly missed the near post as the score remained 1-0.

USC Aiken continued to push forward, posting shots over the final few minutes. Neil Hamilton had a pair of attempts, including one in the final seconds, but neither managed to find the back of the net.
 
For the match, USC Aiken was nearly even in shots at 9-10, including 3-5 on goal. They came out on top in corner kicks, 3-2. In goal, Chavarria had four saves in 90 minutes between the pipes.

At halftime, Billy Johns, Jordan Misiri, Daniel Orillac and Owayne Warsop were honored for their hard work and dedication to the school and program.
