ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – The University of South Carolina Aiken men's basketball team stayed perfect on the road with an 87-67 victory at Flagler Wednesday evening.
The Pacers are now 7-4 overall and 4-3 in league play.
Head coach
Mark Vanderslice's team was led by
Doniel Dean's 18 points and nine assists.
Faison Brock notched 15 points while canning seven-of-10 from the floor.
Henry Bolton III was nearly automatic from the field, hitting six-of-eight for 14 markers.
Austin Grimes buried five-of-seven attempts for 11 points while
Robert Hill accounted for 10 points and 11 rebounds for a double-double.
Paris Ballinger chipped in eight points while
Markus Terry and
Kyle Tackeberry had four points each.
Nenad Milenkovic hit a three-ball in the victory.
After falling behind 5-0, Vanderslice's squad roared back, taking a 10-0 lead on Milenkovic's shot from distance. Grimes' three-ball gave the team a 17-15 edge as part of an 11-0 run, helping the Pacers snag a lead they would not relinquish.
Flagler pulled within six at 36-30, but USC Aiken finished the half strong as Dean took the ball the length of the court and hit a runner at the buzzer for a 50-35 margin at the break.
Vanderslice's team controlled the second half, holding a double-digit advantage the rest of the way and cruised to the 20-point win.
