AIKEN, S.C. – The No. 5 University of South Carolina Aiken baseball team registered an 8-3 victory over Shepherd in the second game of the series.
The Pacers are now 6-0 on the season.

Kenny Thomas' team trailed 3-0 through the first two-and-a-half innings, but
Zach Moon's infield single allowed
Jose Bonilla to cross home, pulling the team within one at 3-1.
Tyler Ammerman belted a solo round-tripper to lead off the fourth. Then,
Daulton Weeks struck out swinging, but reached first on a wild pitch. With two down, Bonilla ripped a double to right field, knotting the score at 3-3 as Weeks crossed home.
The Pacers took the lead for good in the sixth with a pair of runs. Weeks led off the inning with a single and raced home on
Skylar Mercado's double down the right field line.
Mitchell Price doubled home Mercado with two down for the 5-3 margin.
Thomas' team added three insurance runs in the eighth inning.
Jonathan Banks drew a pinch-hit lead-off walk.
Freddie Beamon III came in as a pinch runner and moved to third after Bonilla reached. With one down, the Rams intentionally walked Price. Moon drew a walk, which allowed Beamon III to trot home for a 6-0 advantage.
Brian Parreira rocketed a single to right field, plating Bonilla and Price for the final margin.
For the game, Bonilla, Price, Parreira and
Conner Durden had two hits apiece. Parreira and Moon each drove in two runs while Bonilla and Weeks crossed home twice apiece.
Joseph Benitez was outstanding out the mound. He struck out six batters in 6.1 innings to pick up the victory.
Blake Cantrell worked two-thirds of an inning.
Hunter Dollander struck out one Ram in the eighth while
Mitch Spence tossed a scoreless ninth to compete the victory.
