DAHLONEGA, Ga. – The No. 6 University of South Carolina Aiken men's soccer team played at No. 3 North Georgia in the first round of the PBC Tournament Tuesday and fell by a 4-0 score.
The Pacers conclude their season with a 4-10-2 record.
The home squad jumped on top with three goals in the first 21:33, but head coach
Ike Ofoje's team continued to push forward.
Guiseppe Cimino registered the team's first shot a minute later, but it was blocked.
Samuel Andrews registered a shot in the 36
th minute, but it sailed narrowly over the crossbar.
Brett Smith posted a shot on goal at the 49:02 mark, but he was turned away by the keeper.
Andre Simmond's attempt posted an attempt that was nearly perfect in the 73
rd minute, but the shot hit the crossbar.
Thomas Kretschmar's shot was blocked late in the contest, which kept the visitors off the board.
For the match, USC Aiken was outshot 19-5, including a 6-1 margin on goal.
Leonardo Targia played all 90 minutes between the pipes and stopped a pair of shots.
