MARSHALL, Minn. – University of South Carolina Aiken standout Zach Moon has been named a first-team All-American by the NCAA Division II Conference Commissioners Association, as announced Friday afternoon.

Moon, a 6-4 designated hitter from Snellville, Ga., was recently named an honorable mention All-American by the NCBWA. He has also been named to the NCBWA, ABCA/Rawlings and D2CCA all-region squads and was an all-conference honoree.

He helped the Pacers earn a berth in the NCAA Tournament and guided the team to a spot in the Southeast Region Championship.

Moon was second among the everyday players with a .342 batting average. He led the team with 16 round-trippers and 68 RBI. Moon's 58 runs scored and .626 slugging percentage were tops for USC Aiken. He accounted for a .458 on-base percentage.

Moon finished fourth in the league in home runs and RBI. He was part of head coach Kenny Thomas' fifth 40-win season.

The Division II Conference Commissioners Association encourages and promotes Division II athletics and high standards of sportsmanship as important elements of higher education. The CCA is a key communications link among the conferences as they discuss views, policies and regulations that impact Division II intercollegiate athletics and works closely with the NCAA as a communications channel to NCAA Division II member colleges and universities.
