DAHLONEGA ,Ga. –The No. 49 University of South Carolina Aiken men's tennis team lost a 9-0 decision at North Georgia Thursday afternoon.
The Pacers are now 12-7 overall and 4-6 against conference competition.
Head coach Steve Dahm's team pushed the Nighthawks to the brink in several matches but was unable to register a victory.
In doubles action, the tandem of Ettore Damiani and Julien Tan lost an 8-6 contest at the No. 1 spot. Second-seeded Mathias Degardin and Clement Raymond lost by the same score. Alejandro Andino and Hunter Lathrop fought hard, but dropped an 8-5 contest at the No. 3 slot.
In singles action, No. 32 Damiani lost in three sets at the No. 1 slot. He lost the first set 6-4 before claiming the second stanza 6-3. However, he lost the final set 1-0 (10-2).
Tan, ranked No. 25, lost a 6-1, 6-2 decision at the No. 2 position.
Degardin pushed his opponent to extra points in the first set but ultimately lost a 7-6 (7-1), 6-2 match at the No. 3 spot.
