AIKEN, S.C. – The No. 8 University of South Carolina Aiken golf team placed 11th at the 19th Annual Cleveland Golf Palmetto Intercollegiate, which wrapped up play Tuesday afternoon.
The Pacers recorded a two-day effort of 41-over par, 881, on the tough course. Head coach Michael Carlisle's team tied with Coastal Carolina in the 18-team field.
South Carolina won the event with a 19-under par, 821. Virginia (-1, 839) and Augusta University (+17, 857) rounded out the top three. Chattanooga and East Carolina tied for fourth with a 21-over par, 861.
Carlisle's team was paced by redshirt-sophomore Johnson Holliday, who posted a seven-over par, 217. He tied for 25th in the event. On the final day, Holliday shot a one-over par, 71.
Hubert Tisserand was not far behind Holliday after compiling a nine-over par, 219, for the tournament. He tied for 32nd after playing the final 18 holes with a four-over par, 74.
Axel Ostensson also notched a four-over par, 74, on the final day of competition. He finished with a 12-over par, 222, tying for 46th.
August Lindvall posted a 17-over par, 227, for the event. He wrapped up the final round with an eight-over par, 78. Lindvall tied for 70th.
Samuel Schiff's final round was a stroke better than his opening 18 holes of play. Schiff posted an eight-over par, 228, on the final 18 holes. His score was good enough to tie for 74th.
The Pacers return to action March 21-22 when they compete at the Bobcat Invitational.
