University of South Carolina Aiken baseball standout Max Schoen has been named the South Carolina Education Lottery USC Aiken Athletic Department Student-Athlete of the Month for his efforts in the month of March.

Schoen is a 6-0 redshirt-senior catcher/designated hitter from Loveland, Colo. He helped guide the Pacers to a 15-3 record during the month of March.

Schoen started all 18 games and batted .500. He registered 37 hits in 74 at bats. He led the team in batting average, hits, doubles (11), RBI (26), runs scored (20), total bases (57), slugging percentage (.770) and on-base percentage (.536).

Schoen tied for the team lead with two sacrifice flies. In the field, he was perfect. Schoen registered 92 putouts and had five assists without committing an error.

He had a hit in 16 of the 18 games and registered 14 multi-hit performances, seven multi-run games and five multi-RBI contests.

The South Carolina Education Lottery USC Aiken Athletic Department Student-Athlete of the Month award honors one student-athlete each month from an in-season sport for their hard work and effort. Each month during the 2015-16 athletic year one winner will be chosen from an in-season sport.
