Hannah Price led off the seventh with a hard hit to center field. Samantha Peka, who came in as a pinch runner, raced to second on a wild pitch, but it was as close as the Pacers could come.
In the second game, head coach Jerry Snyder's team jumped on top with a run in the top of the first. Montei reached on a throwing error and scampered to second on the miscue to lead things off. Sydney Murphy's sacrifice bunt pushed Montei to third and she swiftly crossed home plate on Samantha Chubb's RBI groundout to second base.
The RBI moved Chubb into third place on the career RBI list with 95.
The Jaguars tied it in the second and took the lead in the third. The home team scored in each of the ensuing innings en route to the 7-1 lead.
Trailing 5-1 in the sixth, USC Aiken had an excellent chance to cut into the margin.
Montei led off the inning by drawing a walk. She advanced to second on Chubb's single to right field. Hannah Price reached on a fielder's choice that erased Montei. With two down, Thrower earned a base on balls to load the bags. However, Snyder's team was unable to push any runs across.
