USC Aiken Moves To No. 6 In National Rankings

AIKEN, S.C. – The University of South Carolina Aiken baseball team moved up to No. 6 in the latest national rankings, released by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association and Collegiate Baseball this week.

In the Collegiate Baseball rankings, head coach Kenny Thomas' team moved up to No. 6. The squad, which is 25-6 heading into tonight's game against Albany State, was previously ranked at No. 7 a week ago. Last week, the team registered a 3-1 mark.

USC Aiken received 400 total points. St. Cloud State led the way with 472 points. Millersville, Franklin Pierce, Colorado Mesa and West Alabama round out the top five.

The Pacers climbed from No. 13 to No. 6 in the latest NCBWA Poll as well. The squad tallied 300 points. St. Cloud State is first while Colorado Mesa, West Alabama, Millersville and Franklin Pierce round out the top five.

The NCBWA has the Pacers as the top team in the Southeast Region. The squad garnered 109 total points and moved up from No. 2 last week. USC Aiken received 10 of the 11 first-place votes.
