AIKEN, S.C. – The University of South Carolina Aiken men's tennis team registered a 6-3 victory over Coker Sunday afternoon.
The Pacers are now 1-1 on the season.
Head coach Steve Dahm's team took control of the match in the early going, winning two of the doubles matches.
The tandem of Julien Tan and Ettore Damiani notched an 8-2 victory at the No. 1 spot. Hunter Lathrop and Alejandro Andino garnered an 8-6 win at the No. 3 slot, giving the team a 2-1 edge heading into singles competition.
At the top singles spot, Tan notched a 6-4, 7-6 victory over his counterpart. Damiani, playing as the No. 2 seed, took home a 6-3, 6-1 win.
Clement Raymond and Andino each posted wins at the No. 5 and No. 6 positions, respectively.
Raymond, playing at the No. 5 spot, cruised to a 6-1, 6-2 win. Andino had a slightly tougher match at the No. 6 slot, but managed to pull off the 6-4, 6-4 win.
The Pacers return to action Thursday when they travel to Morehouse for a 2 p.m., match.
