AIKEN, S.C. – The University of South Carolina Aiken women's tennis team netted an 8-1 victory over Limestone in a non-conference contest.
The Pacers improve to 6-2 on the season with the win.
Head coach Steve Dahm's team jumped out to a 3-0 lead by posting wins in each of the doubles matches.
The No. 1 tandem of Nadine Tusiama and Olivera Veskovac cruised to an 8-0 win. Second-seeded Marie Habiyaremye and Sarah Bernos notched an 8-1 win while Kayla Calvert and Victoria Giannaccini's 8-3 win propelled the Pacers to the insurmountable lead.
USC Aiken was only seriously challenged in one of the team's singles wins. Tusiama took care of business at the No. 1 slot with a 6-2, 6-2 victory.
Veskovac needed a third set before prevailing 6-4, 4-6, 11-9 at the No. 2 position. Calvert, lined up at the No. 3 slot, registered a 6-3, 6-3 victory.
Habiyaremye tallied a 6-3, 6-2 win at the No. 5 spot while Bernos concluded the team's win by garnering a 6-1, 6-0 victory at the No. 6 position.
The Pacers return to action tomorrow morning at 10:30 a.m., when they face Francis Marion in a Peach Belt Conference contest.
