GAFFNEY, S.C. – The University of South Carolina Aiken men's tennis team dispatched Limestone by a 9-0 count Friday afternoon in a non-conference match-up.
The Pacers are now 5-2 on the young season.
Head coach Steve Dahm's team recorded three wins in doubles action and never looked back in the victory.
Julien Tan and Ettore Damiani teamed up for an 8-4 win at the No. 1 spot. Mathias Degardin and Clement Raymond tallied an 8-5 win at the No. 2 position while Alejandro Andino and Hunter Lathrop recorded an 8-6 victory at the No. 3 slot.
Tan wasted little time in his 6-4, 6-3 win at the No. 1 spot in singles play. Damiani was challenged at the No. 2 position, winning 6-4, 4-6, 10-5. Third-seeded Degardin garnered a 6-3, 6-4 victory.
Raymond breezed past his opponent, 6-1, 6-2, at the No. 4 position while Lathrop tallied a 7-5, 6-4 win at the No. 5 position. Andino, playing at the No. 6 spot, posted a 6-4, 4-6, 10-8 victory, securing the team win.
The Pacers return to action Sunday when they host Francis Marion at 10:30 a.m.
