AUGUSTA, Ga. – University of South Carolina Aiken standout Johnson Holliday has been named the Peach Belt Conference Golfer of the Week, as announced by the league office Thursday.
Playing in a tournament of 16 Division I schools and USC Aiken, Holliday turned in a masterful performance with an 11-under-par 205 to finish second at the Wexford Plantation Intercollegiate.
The redshirt-sophomore from Galivants Ferry, S.C., was under par in all three rounds at 69-70-66 to finish two strokes out of first place. His 205 ties the low 54-hole score in the Peach Belt this season and his final round 66 is tied for the second-lowest single round in the conference this season.
Holliday earns his first top-five finish of the year and helped the Pacers to a third-place in the 17-team field. He now leads the team and is ranked second in the league with a 71.82 stroke average for the year.
