AUGUSTA, Ga. – University of South Carolina Aiken baseball standout Zach Moon has been named the Peach Belt Conference Player of the Week, as announced by the league office Monday.
Moon had an amazing week for the Pacers, hitting .571 with a 1.286 slugging percentage, three home runs and seven RBI. He exploded in a three-game set against Lander, hitting .727 in the series with a 1.636 slugging percentage.
It started with a 2-for-4 outing in game one but escalated in game two. The junior from Snellville, Ga., went 4-for-4 with two home runs and three RBI as the Pacers won 18-17. He added another homer and a double in game three, going 2-for-3.
Moon added six runs scored and did not strike out in 14 at-bats on the week with two walks for a .632 on-base percentage. He is currently tied for second in the PBC in home runs and RBI and is also second in slugging percentage.
