PEMBROKE, N.C. – Junior Brian Parreira has been named the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association Hitter of the Week, which was announced Wednesday.

Parreira hit .500 with a round-tripper and five RBI for the Pacers last week, guiding the squad to a 4-0 record.

In a three-game conference sweep of No. 25 Armstrong State, the sophomore hit .545, collecting multiple hits in all three contests. He opened his week going 1-for-3 with a home run against Emmanuel, then drove in three more runs in the three games against the Pirates.

The first baseman collected doubles in the second and third games, drew three walks for a .632 on-base percentage and had a .857 slugging percentage. He was also perfect in the field with no errors in 33 chances and helped turn two double plays.

The Pacers return to action this afternoon when they host Wingate at 4 p.m.
