MISENHEIMER, N.C. – The University of South Carolina Aiken men's soccer team lost an 8-0 contest at Pfeiffer Wednesday evening.
The Pacers are now 2-11 on the season while the Falcons improve to 11-2.
Orlando Maldovan was tested early and often in the first period, but he was up to the challenge. Maldovan stopped a short in the 13
th minute of action. He followed it up with another solid save at the 16:31 mark. Maldovan registered another stop prior to
Samuel Andrews blasting a shot on frame with 31:12 on the clock. However, the Falcons managed to save it, preserving the scoreless tie to that point.
Roberto Biendicho had a pair of shots blocked over the next few minutes. Pfeiffer netted what turned out to be the game-winning goal at the 41:16 mark.
Trailing 4-0 in the 72
nd minute, Andrews turned and registered a shot, but a defender managed to get in the way and block the attempt.
For the match, Maldovan stopped seven shots while playing 82:15.
