NORMAN, Okla. – The University of South Carolina Aiken golf team was among 27 NCAA Division II teams to earn a Team Academic Award from the GCAA. A total of 169 teams from all three NCAA divisions, NAIA and junior colleges were recognized.
To receive the award, a college or university must submit GPAs for each student-athlete on its official squad list for the academic year. The team must have a 3.00 GPA to earn the honor.
USC Aiken is coming off a 2014-15 season that saw them reach the match play portion of the NCAA Tournament for the second time in the last three years. Ranked as high as No. 2 in the nation, the Pacers won two events last year and had three other top-three finishes.
