PEMBROKE, N.C. – University of South Carolina Aiken baseball standout Chaz Pal has been named the NCBWA Division II Southeast Region Hitter of the Week.

Pal had the hot hand at Montevallo in three games over the weekend, hitting .700 with a 1.600 slugging percentage as the Pacers took two of three games. 

The junior infielder from Deerfield Beach, Fla., collected multiple hits in all three games, batting 1.000 in the second and third contests.  Five of his seven total hits went for extra bases with three doubles and two home runs in the series.  

Pal doubled and homered in game two going 2-for-2, then went 3-for-3 with a double and a homer in the third game. 

He drew three walks and had a .786 on-base percentage and stole a base.

Pal was also named the PBC Player of the Week for his effort.

He returns to action Wednesday as the Pacers host Paine starting at 6 p.m.
