AUGUSTA, Ga. - University of South Carolina Aiken student-athlete Chaz Pal has been named the Peach Belt Conference Baseball Player of the Week, as announced by the league office.
Pal led the team to a 2-1 week as the Pacers won the series at Montevallo.
The Deerfield Beach, Fla., native batted .700 for the three games. He pounded out seven hits in 10 at bats. Five of the hits went for extra bases, including three doubles and a pair of home runs.
For the week, Pal slugged 1.600 and maintained an on-base percentage of .786 as he walked three times.
Pal also accounted for a sacrifice hit and swiped a base. He also scored six runs for head coach Kenny Thomas' team.
Pal and the rest of the Pacers return to action Wednesday at home against Paine before hosting UNC Pembroke in a weekend series starting Friday evening.
