FLORENCE, S.C. – The University of South Carolina Aiken women's tennis team returned to action for the first time since March 6 and dropped a 6-3 contest at Francis Marion Thursday evening.
The Pacers are now 6-5 on the season and 2-3 against league competition.
Head coach Steve Dahm's team garnered one victory in doubles action as Marie Habiyaremye and Oliver Veskovac teamed up for an 8-4 win at the No. 2 spot.
Despite a solid effort, USC Aiken came up just short in singles action. The team lost two matches that went three sets, which would have given the squad the overall victory.
Shauna Williams accounted for a 6-4, 6-7 (0-7), 7-6 (7-5) win at the No. 2 spot while Sabrina Tam posted a 6-1, 6-1 victory at the No. 6 position.
