NORMAN, Okla. – University of South
Carolina Aiken standouts Hayden Letien, Gaines Milliner and Andrew
Ward have been named to the Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America
Scholars, which was announced this week.
A total of 75 golfers in Division II earned the honor. To be
eligible for Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America Scholar status an
individual must be a junior or senior academically, compete in at
least three full years at the collegiate level, participate in 50
percent of his team's competitive rounds, have a stroke
average under 78 and maintain a minimum cumulative grade-point
average of 3.2. A recipient must also be of high moral character
and be in good standing at his institution.
Letien was a senior during the 2013-14 campaign. A native of
Sumter, S.C., Letien earned all-conference and all-tournament team
honors by the Peach Belt Conference. He competed in 12
tournaments and tallied a 74.69 stroke average. After finishing
third at the Firestone Invitational, he picked up PBC Golfer of the
Week honors. At the PBC Championship, Letien fired a 71, helping
guide USC Aiken to its second consecutive conference title.
Milliner was a senior during the
2013-14 season. A native of Aiken, S.C., he posted a 76.28 stroke
average on the season while competing in seven tournaments for the
Pacers. Milliner notched a 36th-place finish at the Matlock Invitational and
helped the Pacers claim their second straight conference
championship.
Ward was a junior last year.
A native of York, S.C., he won the Elite 89 Award at the Division
II National Championship. He competed in nine tournaments on the
season, posting a 75.09 stroke average. At the Rock Barn
Invitational, Ward shot a 148, earning a fifth-place finish. At the
PBC Championship, he registered a three-over par, 75.
