AIKEN, S.C. – The University of South Carolina Aiken, in conjunction with head men's basketball coach Vince Alexander, is pleased to announce the 2014-15 schedule.
The Pacers open the 2014-15 campaign Nov. 14-15 at the Barton 45-Second Classic in Wilson, N.C. USC Aiken takes on Mount Olive on Nov. 14 before wrapping up the event against the host squad Saturday afternoon.
Alexander and his team open the home portion of the slate on Tuesday, Nov. 18, against Southern Wesleyan. The game marks the first time the program has played in front of its home crowd sense capturing the NCAA Southeast Regional Championship with an 84-73 victory over Montevallo March 18.
The Pacers host the USC Aiken Classic Nov. 21-22. The squad will host Elizabeth City State Friday and Winston-Salem State Saturday.
USC Aiken hits the road for a pair of contests, playing at Paine on Nov. 25 and at Carson-Newman on Nov. 29.
Alexander's team hosts six consecutive home games, spanning 33 days. The Pacers kick off the homestand with a Dec. 3 outing against Benedict. Ten days later, the team prepares for King College, which represents the last non-conference game of the regular season.
On Dec. 17 Georgia College makes its way to the Convocation Center. On Saturday, Dec. 20, the Pacers host Columbus State before breaking for the holidays.
The team returns to action when it hosts Armstrong State Jan. 3. Two days later, the squad entertains Flagler.
On Wednesday, Jan. 7, the Pacers make the trek UNC Pembroke. Three days later, the squad travels to Flagler, facing the Saints for the second time in less than a week.
Jan. 14 marks a home contest against the Bearcats of Lander. USC Aiken hosts NCAA Tournament foe Georgia Southwestern Jan. 17. The Pacers hit the road for a rematch of last year's NCAA Regional Championship against Montevallo on Monday, Jan. 19, before returning home to face Francis Marion Jan. 24.
USC Aiken closes out the first month of 2015 with road games at Armstrong State (Jan. 28) and Young Harris (Jan. 31).
The Pacers host UNC Pembroke Feb. 4 before traveling to nearby Lander on Saturday, Feb. 7 for an afternoon contest. USC Aiken remains away from home for a mid-week clash at Clayton State Feb. 11.
The team hosts GRU Augusta Feb. 14 before wrapping up its home portion of the regular season Wednesday, Feb. 18 against North Georgia.
Alexander and his squad complete the regular season with games at Francis Marion (Feb. 21) and at GRU Augusta (Feb. 25).
The first round of the PBC Tournament is slated for Saturday, Feb. 28.
