AIKEN, S.C. – The No. 15 University of South Carolina Aiken men's tennis team registered a 5-4 victory over Young Harris Saturday afternoon.
The Pacers are now 10-6 overall and 2-5 against Peach Belt Conference foes.
Head coach Steve Dahm's team found itself trailing 2-1 after the doubles competition. USC Aiken's lone victory was at the No. 2 slot as Ettore Damiani and Lucas Gobbi put together an 8-4 victory.
However, the team battled back, taking four of the six singles matches. At the top spot, Damiani lost the first set 7-5 before bouncing back for the 6-2, 6-2 wins, taking the match.
Alejandro Andino notched a 6-3, 6-4 straight set victory at the No. 2 position. Gobbi remained perfect on the day, blanking his opponent at the No. 4 slot, 6-0, 6-0. Patrick Stiebinger completed the win for Dahm, notching a 7-5, 6-2 victory at the No. 5 spot.
The Pacers return to action tomorrow at North Georgia. The match is slated to start at 2:30 p.m.
