MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – The University of South Carolina Aiken women's tennis team lost a 5-1 decision at Georgia College Saturday.
The Pacers are now 13-7 on the season and 6-6 against Peach Belt Conference foes.
In doubles action, Nadine Tusiama and Shauna Williams earned a hard-fought 9-8 victory at the No. 1 spot. It marked the only contest that head coach Steve Dahm's team would win in the match.
USC Aiken fell at the No. 2 doubles spot by an 8-4 count while the No. 3 tandem lost by an 8-2 score.
In singles competition, Margot Simon pushed the Bobcats' No. 2 student-athlete to a three-set thriller. After falling behind with a first-set loss, 6-4, Simon pounded out a 6-3 win in the second set. However, Simon lost the final frame by a 6-1 score.
Tusiama lost 6-4, 6-1, at the No. 1 spot while Victoria Jasko dropped a 6-0, 6-4 match at the No. 4 position.
The Pacers return to action tomorrow against Armstrong. The match is slated to start at 2 p.m.
