USC Aiken Upends Queens

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The University of South Carolina Aiken women's tennis team posted a hard fought 5-4 victory at Queens University of Charlotte Tuesday afternoon in a non-conference contest.

The Pacers are now 11-5 on the season.

USC Aiken fell behind 2-1 after the doubles competition was over. Head coach Steve Dahm's lone victory by his team came at the No. 2 spot as Nadine Tusiama and Franziska Regel bested their opponents by an 8-6 count.

Although the team was behind, it did not worry as Dahm's squad registered four wins in singles action to take the match.

Shauna Williams overcame a first set loss to record a 7-5, 6-3 win. Victoria Jasko notched a 6-1, 6-1 win at the No. 4 position while Julia Arruda accounted for a 6-3, 6-0 win at the No. 5 slot.

Franziska Regel downed her opponent 6-3, 6-3 at the No. 6 spot.

The Pacers return to action Wednesday when they host Francis Marion starting at 2 p.m.
