CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The University of South Carolina Aiken men's tennis team registered a 6-3 win at Queens University of Charlotte Tuesday afternoon in a non-conference contest.
The Pacers are now 9-5 on the year.
Head coach Steve Dahm's team jumped out to a 3-0 victory by snagging all three doubles competitions. At the top spot, Alejandro Andino and Patrick Stiebinger earned an 8-6 victory. Ettore Damiani and Lucas Gobbi tallied an 8-4 win while Andy Quirk and Ronan Reberac garnered a 9-8 title.
In doubles action, Damiani picked up his second victory of the season by taking down his opponent 6-3, 6-1 at the No. 1 slot. Quirk, at the No. 3 position, bested his opposition 6-0, 6-0. Stiebinger blazed past the home team's player in a thrilling three-set contest. After dropping the first set 7-6, he won 6-3, 9-6.
The Pacers return to action Wednesday when they host Francis Marion starting at 2 p.m.
