AIKEN, S.C. – The University of South Carolina Aiken women's tennis team breezed past Georgia Southwestern Saturday, posting a 7-2 win in the conference contest.
The Pacers are now 8-2 overall on the season, including a 3-1 record in league play.
In doubles action, Margot Simon and Victoria Jasko started off the match with a win at the top position, scoring 8-6 against their opponents.
Nadine Tusiama and Shauna Williams gained a swift victory at the No. 2 slot with a score of 8-3 for the set. USC Aiken fell at the No. 3 spot.
Head coach Steve Dahm's team continued to dominate in singles play, claiming five of the six matches.
Tusiama earned a decisive victory the No. 1 spot with a straight 6-1, 6-1 score while Simon blew past her opponent with a 6-2, 6-3 win in the No. 2 position. Williams defeated her opponent at the No. 3 slot by a 6-1, 6-2 score.
Jasko came out on top at the No. 5 position after a hard fought match, rebounding after dropping the first set 6-4 to win 6-0 and 10-8, respectively. Caitlyn Lawrence rounded out the competition with a 6-2, 6-1 win at the No. 6 spot.
The Pacers return to action Sunday when they host Columbus St. at 1 p.m.
