AIKEN, S.C. – The University of South Carolina Aiken women's tennis team posted a 9-0 win over visiting Coker Sunday afternoon in a non-conference contest.
The Pacers are now 7-2 overall on the season.
Nadine Tusiama and Shauna Williams had the toughest doubles match of the day, but still dispatched their opposition by an 8-4 count at the top spot. Margot Simon and Victoria Jasko totaled an 8-0 victory at the No. 2 doubles spot while Caitlyn Lawrence and Ella Rhodin garnered an 8-0 win at the No. 3 position.
USC Aiken continued their handling of the Cobras, winning all six singles matches, including five in straight sets.
Tusiama won the No. 1 spot by a convincing 6-1, 6-0 score while Simon raced past her opponent with a 6-0, 6-2 win. Williams ousted her opposition at the No. 3 spot by a 6-1, 6-2 score.
Jasko won by a 6-1, 6-0 margin at the No. 5 position while Caitlyn Lawrence accounted for a 6-0, 6-0 win at the No. 6 spot.
The toughest match of singles action came from the No. 4 slot. She defeated her opponent in three sets. After falling 6-3 in the opener, she bounced back for 7-5 and 10-6 wins, securing the sweep for head coach Steve Dahm's team.
The Pacers return to action Tuesday when they host Mount Olive at 2 p.m.
