AIKEN, S.C. – The University of South Carolina Aiken women's tennis team fell to Pfeiffer 5-4 Saturday afternoon in a non-conference contest.
The Pacers are now 6-2 on the young season.
In singles action, head coach Steve Dahm's team had wins at the No. 1, 4 and 6 positions in the hard fought contest.
Nadine Tusiama quickly took the No. 1 slot with straight 6-2, 6-2 set wins.
Shauna Williams and Caitlyn Lawrence both battled uphill to win the No. 4 and 6 spots, respectively. Williams won in two sets with scores of 7-6 and 6-1, while Lawrence fought hard for a three-set win with scores of 7-5, 1-6 and 11-9.
In doubles play, the Pacers dropped the No. 1 and 2 slots. Margot Simon and Victoria Jasko had a decisive win at the No. 3 position, scoring 8-2 to finish off the match.
The Pacers return to action Sunday when they host Coker in a 1 p.m. match.
