ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – The No. 3 University of South Carolina Aiken baseball team split a doubleheader at Flagler Saturday. The Pacers won the first game 9-8 before falling 10-9 in the second contest.

Head coach Kenny Thomas' team is now 11-3 overall and 4-1 in conference competition.

Leading the way for the Pacers was T.J. Costen, who went two-for-five with a grand slam in the seventh, giving the visitors an 8-2 advantage.

Danny Wissmann went six innings, striking out seven while giving up just two runs on five hits to secure the win. He is now 3-0 on the young season. Thomas went to the bullpen four times in the game before Cole Lee got the final out of the game for the save.

Trailing 2-0, Barkell's sacrifice fly plated Kody Belcher. After a walk by Bosse, Moore and Bosse completed the double steal, knotting the contest at two.

Bosse's single in the sixth allowed Costen to come home. Metzler followed it up with a single of his own, giving the team a 4-2 lead. With one down in the seventh, Moore walked to load the bases. Costen unleashed a powerful swing, allowing everyone to score on his grand slam.

Durham singled home Ben Donath in the eighth for the team's ninth run of the game. Although the Saints scored three in the eighth and three in the ninth, Lee was able to get Sam Komel line out to right field to end the game with the bases loaded.

The Pacers jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the second contest and a 9-4 lead in the fifth but Flagler fought back, pulling within two in the bottom of the fifth.
