ANDERSON, S.C. – The University of South Carolina Aiken women's tennis team earned a 7-2 road win at Anderson Wednesday afternoon in a non-conference contest.
With the win, the Pacers run their record to 4-0 on the young season.
Head coach Steve Dahm's team took a 3-0 advantage by posting wins in all three doubles matches.
Margot Simon and Victoria Jasko tallied an 8-6 win in the No. 1 position. Shauna Williams and Nadine Tusiama garnered an 8-4 victory at the No. 2 slot while Franziska Regel and Julie Arruda totaled an 8-2 win at the No. 3 spot.
In singles action, the Pacers took victories at No. 2, No. 3, No. 5 and No. 6.
Tusiama breezed past her opponent at the No. 2 position by 6-1, 6-1 scores. Arruda won the first set at No. 3 by a 6-2 count, but dropped the second one by the same score. However, she rallied for the victory by winning 7-6 in the third.
Williams handled the No. 5 player with relative ease, posting a 6-2, 6-2 win. Jasko rounded out the singles competition with a 6-0, 6-1 victory.
The Pacers return to action Saturday at Montevallo. The match is slated to start at 12 p.m.
