CHARLESTON, S.C. – The University of South Carolina Aiken women's basketball team lost an 81-67 contest at the College of Charleston Thursday evening.
Amaura Brandt led the team with a game-high 24 points. She connected on eight-of-12 attempts from the floor – and all were from behind the three-point stripe. She also corralled a team-best eight rebounds.
Mariah Durian netted 13 points, including nine from deep. She and Kately Grisillo shared game-high accolades with five assists apiece. Mackenzie Reese tallied 12 points.
Kassy Johannsen notched eight markers in the exhibition. Emry Tsitouris (four points), Stephanie Ball (three points) and Jasmine Coach (three points) rounded out the scorers for head coach Mike Brandt's team.
USC Aiken was held to 38.3 percent shooting from the floor. However, the squad combined to net 15-of-33 from downtown (45.5 percent). The Pacers also connected on 85.7 percent of their charity tosses.
The Pacers open their season Saturday, Nov. 15 at Carson-Newman. The contest is slated for a 7 p.m. start. Live stats and video links are available at PacerSports.com.
