Aiken volleyball standout Ashley Diedrich has been named to the
AVCA all-Southeast Region squad, as announced by the AVCA
recently.
Diedrich, a native of Orlando, Fla., was recently tabbed the 2014
Peach Belt Conference and Daktronics Southeast Region Player of the
Year. She led the conference in kills and points per set. Diedrich
guided the Pacers to their first NCAA Tournament berth since 2007,
leading the squad to the No. 3 seed in the Southeast Region.
The right-side hitter ranked second in total kills (412) and was
third in service aces per set (0.44) in the conference. Diedrich
established career highs for the season for kills (412), kills per
set (3.96), attack percentage (.224), assists (45), assists per set
(0.43), digs (313), digs per set (3.01), block assists (64), total
blocks (71), blocks per set (0.68), total points (497) and points
per set (4.8). Diedrich posted 14 double-doubles on the season,
including a career-high 32-kill, 20-dig performance. In the PBC
Quarterfinals, Diedrich notched a career-high seven block assists.
She was a two-time PBC Player of the Week.
