DAHLONEGA, Ga. – The University of South Carolina Aiken lost a 4-3 decision at North Georgia Saturday evening in the regular-season finale.

The Pacers are now 12-4-1 overall and concluded PBC play with a 6-3 mark.

Noel Mais scored a pair of goals for head coach Ike Ofoje's team, but it was not enough in the high-scoring affair.

Nader Fakih found Mais at the 9:08 mark for the first tally of the night. However, the home team tied the contest 48 seconds later.

North Georgia tacked on two long-distance shots in the first half, taking a 3-1 lead into intermission.

The Pacers got things together at the break and pulled within one at the 70:03 mark when Mais connected on penalty kick goal, making it 3-2. However, North Georgia made it a 4-2 match just a few seconds later.

USC Aiken pulled within one with 3:10 left in regulation when Brett Smith dribbled through traffic and rocketed home the score.

Neither team was able to take a shot in the closing minutes, resulting in the North Georgia victory.

Brandon Jarosz played 31:23 between the pipes and stopped three shots. Joshua Poissant played the remainder of the match in goal, earning one save.

USC Aiken totaled 17 shots to 16 for the home team. The squad also held an 8-2 advantage in corner kicks.

The Pacers host a PBC first-round tournament match on Tuesday at 7 p.m. The opponent will be announced later tonight by the conference office.
