AIKEN, S.C. – The University of South Carolina Aiken's India Kornegay and Kaitlyn White have been named to the 2014 Peach Belt Conference preseason all-conference team, as voted on by the league's head coaches and announced by the league office.

In all, 12 student-athletes were selected to the team representing seven different conference schools.

Kornegay, a 5-8 senior hurler from Eufaula, Ala., is coming off a stellar campaign. As a junior, she was selected to the NFCA and Daktronics all-Southeast Region Teams and was a second-team all-conference performer. The Team MVP garnered PBC Pitcher of the Week honors on Feb. 26.

Last year she appeared in 30 games, starting 24. Kornegay finished fourth in the conference with a 1.27 ERA and was second nationally with 273 strikeouts. Her 10.54 strikeouts per game ranked ninth nationally. Kornegay tossed a no-hitter against North Greenville and established a school record with 18 strikeouts against Catawba. She heads into her senior season with 752 career strikeouts.

White, a 5-4 senior from McAllen, Texas, was selected to the NFCA all-Southeast Region first team. The utility player also garnered all-conference first-team accolades as a junior.

In 2013, White started all 47 games and led the team with a .307 batting average. In league play, she boosted her average to .387, which was third best in the conference. White led the team with 13 multi-hit games and swiped 13 bases. In the clutch, White posted two game-winning RBI, including one in the ninth inning against then-No. 4 Armstrong.

The Pacers open their 2014 campaign Feb. 7 against Coker (3 p.m.) and Shaw (5 p.m.) at the Claflin Tournament.
