Tarailo Named Honorable Mention All-American by WBCA

AIKEN, S.C. – University of South Carolina Aiken senior guard Daniela Tarailo was named an NCAA Division II Honorable Mention All-American by the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) on Monday, March 25, 2013.

The award is one of many that Tarailo has obtained during the 2012-13 season. The First-Team All-Peach Belt Conference selection was also tabbed to the 2013 NCAA Division II Women's Basketball Southeast Regional All-Regional Team. Tarailo was named to the Daktronics All-Southeast Region Second-Team. 

Tarailo (Crown Point, Ind./Crown Point HS) was also chosen to the Capital One Academic NCAA Division II Women's Basketball District Three First-Team and the Peach Belt Conference All-Academic team.

Tarailo averaged 15.3 points, 4.8 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game in the 2012-13 season. She scored in double figures 26 times this past season. She scored over 20 six times.

Tarailo netted over 30 points twice, scoring a career-best 31 points in USC Aiken's road league win over then No. 24 Augusta State on Saturday, Feb. 2.

Tarailo was chosen as the Peach Belt Conference Player of the Week on Feb. 4.

Tarailo concludes her Pacer career in the top-10 in school history for total points with 1,169 career points. She is also in the top-10 in USC Aiken's NCAA Division II history in 3-pointers made (216), games played (121) and minutes played (2,894).
