AIKEN, S.C. – University of South Carolina Aiken men's basketball student-athlete Jesse Seilern has been tabbed to the Capital One Academic NCAA Division II Men's Basketball District Three First-Team.
The Capital One Academic All-America program is selected by CoSIDA.
As a First-Team member, Seilern is now eligible for Academic All-America consideration. The Capital One Academic NCAA Division II Men's Basketball All-America team is scheduled to be unveiled on Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2013.
Seilern (Innsbruck, Austria/Kapfenberg HS) has now claimed Capital One Academic NCAA Division II Men's Basketball District Three First-Team honors for two straight seasons (2011-12 and 2012-13).
Seilern has started every Pacer game this season. He is currently averaging 10.1 points, 3.5 rebounds and 2.8 assists per game.
The junior guard is shooting 41.9 percent from the field and 41.8 percent from beyond the arc. Seilern has knocked down 78.9 percent of his free throw attempts this season.
Seilern has scored in double figures nine times in the 2012-13 season for the Pacers. He posted a career-high tying 21 points in USC Aiken's home win over Francis Marion on Saturday, Jan. 26.
In the classroom, Seilern owns a 3.514 grade point average as a Business Administration major.
USC Aiken (13-5, 9-2 PBC) will next travel to Augusta, Ga. on Saturday, Feb. 2 to face off against rival Augusta State (10-7, 5-5 PBC). Tip-off in the game is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
