Oguchi Inks Contract In Latvia

AIKEN, S.C. – Former University of South Carolina Aiken standout Kingsley Oguchi has signed a professional contract with Liepaja – Triobet, in Latvia.

"Kingsley is well-deserving of the opportunities he's gotten," head coach Vince Alexander said. "He is one of the hardest workers our program has had. Kingsley was committed to the total package while he was at USC Aiken. He was the best student-athlete he could be – on and off the court. I am very happy for him and his family as he extends his pro career."

Oguchi was a four-year starter for the Pacers. He ended his illustrious career in the top six in the program's history with 1,112 points. Oguchi was the all-time leader in steals with 162 and is currently second.

He also holds the school record for minutes played in a single game. On March 9, 2008, he played 53 minutes against Clayton State. Oguchi tied his mark on March 7, 2009 against Armstrong.

He helped the Pacers win 52 games over his final two seasons. Oguchi guided the squad to the 2007-08 Peach Belt Conference regular-season title and the 2008-09 team to the NCAA Division II Sweet 16.

Liepaja – Triobet kicked off its season with a 74-70 victory on Oct. 1 against Jurmala. The team is coming off a fifth-place finish in Group B a season ago.
