AIKEN, S.C. - University of South Carolina Aiken women's basketball player Daniela Tarailo was named the South Carolina Education Lottery USC Aiken Athletic Department Student-Athlete of the Week on Monday, January 7, 2013.
Tarailo closed out USC Aiken's perfect 2-0 week last week averaging a team-best 18 points per game to go along with 3.5 rebounds per game.
The senior guard shot 54.2 percent (13-for-24) from the field on the week. She made 46.7 percent (7-of-15) of her 3-point attempts. Tarailo was a perfect 3-of-3 from the charity stripe on the week.
Tarailo (Crown Point, Ind./Crown Point HS) finished USC Aiken's road win over Georgia Southwestern on Thursday, Jan. 3 with a career-best 26 points. She was 9-for-13 from the floor in the Pacer win. Tarailo knocked down a career-high tying five 3-pointers in the Pacer win.
In USC Aiken's road victory over Columbus State, Tarailo ended her efforts with 10 points and seven rebounds.
