Box Score BREVARD, N.C. – The University of South Carolina Aiken men's soccer team remained undefeated in the young 2012 season with a 1-1 double overtime road tie with Brevard.
The second straight 1-1 tie for the Pacers moves USC Aiken to 0-0-2 on the year. Brevard is now 0-3-1 on the 2012 season.
Scott Newby (Leicestershire, U.K./Wreake Valley HS) collected the lone Pacer goal in the tie in the 25th-minute.
Junior Montano scored just before halftime for Brevard to even things up.
Neither team would be able to find the back of the net the rest of the way.
The Pacers held a 15-9 shot advantage in the contest. USC Aiken took the only two corner kicks in the contest.
USC Aiken will next travel to Laurinburg, N.C. to tangle with St. Andrews at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 15. USC Aiken owns a 6-2-5 all-time series lead over the Knights.
The Pacers will then close out their season-opening four-game road swing by commencing Peach Belt Conference play against new league foe Young Harris at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 19 in Young Harris, Ga. The match will mark the first-ever meeting between the two programs.
