Box Score HARROGATE, Tenn. – The University of South Carolina Aiken women's soccer team controlled things statistically in a match once again, but fell just short in a 2-0 non-conference women's soccer loss to Lincoln Memorial at LMU Soccer Field.
The two teams entered halftime with the score even at 0-0. The Pacers held a 6-2 shot advantage in the first stanza.
The game would remain scoreless until the 61st-minute when Lincoln Memorial's Nicole McKinney headed in the first goal of the contest off an assist from Olivia Thompson.
Just a couple minutes later, Rachel Vienneau scored for Lincoln Memorial from 35 yards out to score what would become the game's final goal.
USC Aiken (0-2-1) concluded the match with a 16-7 shot advantage in the contest. The Pacers held a dominating 11-1 corner kick advantage.
Megan Smits (Manassas, Va./Stonewall Jackson HS) led the Pacers with six shots.
Alli Edens (Lexington, S.C./College of Charleston) logged all 90 minutes in goal for USC Aiken. She made three saves.
Lincoln Memorial (2-0) goalkeeper Kayla Hanson saved six Pacer shots in her 90 minutes between the pipes.
USC Aiken will next close out its three-game road swing with a contest against Brevard at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 8 in Brevard, N.C. The Pacers have claimed two straight wins over Brevard.
