Pacers Fall 3-0 to Lander

AIKEN, S.C. – The University of South Carolina Aiken women's soccer team fell 3-0 to Lander in Peach Belt Conference action on Wednesday evening at the "Pacer Pit."

Nina Morales led Lander in its win with two goals.

Morales scored her first goal of the match in the 31st-minute when she took a Jamie Shaw flick and promptly placed the ball into the upper right corner of the net.

The score would remain 1-0 in Lander's favor until the 73rd-minute. Lara Middlebrook collected the second goal of the match for Lander when she hit in a shot from 30 yards out.

Morales claimed her second goal in the 84th-minute when she hit a left-footed shot into the back of the Pacer net.

Lander finished the match with a 24-15 shot advantage. The Pacers owned a 12-11 shot advantage in the second half.

Lander held an 8-7 advantage in corner kick opportunities.

USC Aiken's Caroline Gillespie (Moore, S.C./JL Mann HS) finished the loss to Lander with a team-leading three shots. Aubrey Danielson (Spartanburg, S.C./Dorman HS) had the best chance of the game for USC Aiken, but her long-range effort hit the post.

Pacer goalkeeper Alli Edens (Lexington, S.C./College of Charleston) made 10 saves.

USC Aiken will next close out the week on the road in Americus, Ga. on Saturday, Sept. 29. USC Aiken's conference tilt with Georgia Southwestern is slated to begin at 1 p.m.
