Box Score AIKEN, S.C. – The nationally 18th-ranked Columbus State women's soccer team picked up a 5-0 Peach Belt Conference victory over USC Aiken on Saturday afternoon at the "Pacer Pit."
The loss was the first Peach Belt Conference loss of the year for USC Aiken (3-5-1, 2-1-0 PBC).
Columbus State (7-1-0, 1-1-0 PBC) scored four of its five goals in the match in the first half. The Pacers held the Cougars to just one goal in the second stanza.
Nikki Turnbull led Columbus State in its win over the Pacers with two goals and one assist.
Columbus State owned a 23-7 shot advantage in the game, but the Cougars had just a slight 7-5 shot advantage in the second half.
Aubrey Danielson (Spartanburg, S.C./Dorman HS) led the Pacers with three shots.
The Cougars owned an 8-5 advantage in corner kick opportunities in the contest.
USC Aiken will next welcome Peach Belt Conference foe Lander to the "Pacer Pit" for a 5 p.m. match on Wednesday, Sept. 26.
