Former Pacer Lee Chosen to Frontier League All-Star Game

WASHINGTON, Pa. – Former University of South Carolina Aiken baseball standout Gary Lee has been named to the Frontier League All-Star Game.

A pitcher for the Washington Wild Things, Lee will be making the first All-Star appearance of his professional career.

Lee is currently 3-3 with a 2.27 ERA. He has fanned 20 over the course of his six appearances.

In his last appearance before earning the All-Star nod, Lee finished just a third of an inning away from dealing a no-hitter in the Wild Things' 3-0 win over the Rockford RiverHawks on July 3. In his sixth season in the professional ranks, Lee joined the Wild Things in the middle of the 2011 season. Last season for Washington, Lee was 4-6 overall. He owned a 4.18 ERA.

Lee struck out 44 in 94.2 innings pitched in 2011.

A two-year member of the USC Aiken baseball team (2006-07), Lee was tabbed to the Peach Belt Conference All-Tournament Team in 2007. He made the most appearances in Pacer history in 2007 with 35.

He was also named the PBC Pitcher of the Week on Feb. 14, 2006.

The 2012 Frontier League All-Star game will be held at 6:30 p.m. on July 11 in Normal, Ill. at the Corn Crib, which is the home of the Normal CornBelters.
