AIKEN, S.C. - University of South Carolina Aiken men's
tennis player Lucas Gobbi was named the South Carolina Education
Lottery USC Aiken Athletic Department Student-Athlete of the Week
on April 9, 2012.
Gobbi was a perfect 2-0 in singles last week for the Pacers. He
was 1-0 in doubles action.
The Santa Bárbara d'Oeste, Brazil native opened last week
by besting Erskine's James Hoatson 6-2, 6-4 at No. 4
singles.
Gobbi and doubles partner Josh Rees (Torquay, England/Torquay
Boy's Grammar School) also bested Hoatson and his doubles
partner Aaron Twitty, 8-4, at No. 3 doubles.
Gobbi closed out his week by picking up a win at No. 5 singles
in USC Aiken's match with nationally ninth-ranked Lander on
Saturday, April 7.
Gobbi downed Lander's Diego Zegarra 7-5, 1-6, 10-8.
