Pacer Men Pick Up Shutout Victory Over Flagler

AIKEN, S.C. – In a battle of nationally-ranked top-35 teams, the nationally 33rd-ranked University of South Carolina Aiken men's tennis team rolled to a 5-0 Peach Belt Conference shutout victory over 27th-ranked Flagler on Tuesday afternoon at the USC Aiken Tennis Complex.

The USC Aiken women (12-6, 6-4 PBC) had their four match winning streak snapped in a 5-1 loss to 25th-ranked Flagler on Tuesday.

The USC Aiken men (7-6, 1-6 PBC) have now won two of their last three matches.

The Pacer men opened Tuesday's dominating win over Flagler (5-13, 2-7 PBC) by sweeping doubles. USC Aiken then only needed two wins in singles to procure its first league win of the year.

The USC Aiken women claimed their only point in their loss to Flagler (8-8, 7-4 PBC) on Tuesday at No. 1 doubles.

The USC Aiken men will next hit the road to face off against Pfeiffer in Misenheimer, N.C. on Wednesday, April 11. The match is slated to begin at 2:30 p.m.

The USC Aiken men and women will then close out their regular seasons with two Peach Belt Conference matches. 

The Pacer men and women will first welcome Georgia College to the USC Aiken Tennis Complex for their final home match of the year at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 14.

USC Aiken will then close the curtains on its regular season with a road league men's and women's tennis match against Georgia Southwestern in Americus, Ga. on Sunday, April 15. The matches are set to begin at 2 p.m.
